The Frame Chose Without Me

Sometimes the composition happens before the decision does.

I lift the camera already knowing the shot is wrong, and take it anyway, and it's the only one that survives the edit. The eye moves faster than intention. Somewhere between seeing and deciding, something else is already choosing — and it has better instincts than I do on my best day.
